John 5:1-15

Living with spiritual complacency, hidden sin, or old wounds can make brokenness feel normal until we stop expecting God to change us. In John 5:1-15, Jesus lovingly confronts our comfort, calls us to faith-filled obedience, and offers the healing and new life only He can give.

In Week 12 of our study through the Gospel of John, we explore one of Jesus' most searching questions: "Do you want to be made well?"

For 38 years, one man lived on a mat beside the Pool of Bethesda. His condition had become his routine, his identity, and his comfort. Before Jesus healed him, He asked a question that still confronts every heart today.

This message challenges us to examine the places where we have settled for less than God's best. Whether it is bitterness, addiction, fear, shame, pride, anxiety, or spiritual apathy, Jesus does not leave us where we are. He calls us to leave the old life behind, trust His Word, and walk in obedience.

Jesus is not repelled by broken people. He is drawn to them. The same Savior who confronts our comfort also offers complete healing, lasting freedom, and a transformed life.

The question remains the same for each of us today: Do you want to be made well?
